Thirty-five years ago we started our business with three people, 20 years of architectural experience, two point-and-shoot cameras and a heart to serve you, our client. We believed then and now that we can serve banks with excellence because of our experience in construction and architecture to ensure that projects use funds appropriately.

Over the past 35 years we have grown to four offices and over thirty employees. We have become an established leader in Construction Risk Management, serving construction lenders with a dedication to integrity and professionalism. CDCC is actively monitoring construction projects valued at approximately $10 Billion across the United States. We assess projects nationally and have offices in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Denver. We truly believe that we offer the highest quality construction risk management services and your investment will be protected with added accountability and monitoring. Our CDCC team works to respond efficiently to your needs, to be thorough in our assessments and inspections on construction projects of every size and scope. It is our goal to assess and minimize the risk inherent in design and construction and be sure that you, the lender, have the assurances you need to make the loans and service them well. CDCC monitors projects ranging in value from $20,000 to $220,000,000. Our services include Cost Reviews, Document Reviews, Construction Monitoring, Property Condition Assessment, and Funds Disbursement.

leadership team

Craig Nix, our President and CEO, is a licensed architect who has been with CDCC for over fifteen years.

His expertise is built on his time with CD Construction Consulting and over a decade practicing architecture, where he was a project manager on multi-family, religious and educational projects in Texas and Colorado. This experience has given him a perspective that allows him to reliably monitor construction projects and potential risks for his clients, while leading and training a team of quality employees. He strives to assure that our work is completed with integrity and excellence. Craig is also a husband and a father of four kids. He is involved with his church where he has served on building committees and as an elder. In his spare time, Craig enjoys the trails around Austin, attending his kids‘ sporting events, and vacationing in the mountains.

Tom Collier, our Vice President and COO, has 30 years of experience in architecture providing an excellent resource.

As an architect he oversaw building design, zoning and code alignment, bidding negotiations and contract review. This experience, gives Tom a keen eye for monitoring construction projects, construction documents, cost reviews and property condition assessments. He believes that good work speaks for itself. Alongside being a licensed Architect, Tom also has his PhD in Engineering.

As a leader at CDCC, he knows that a company is only as good as its employees. Tom enjoys developing his employees and seeing them grow professionally. In his personal time, Tom enjoys serving his church, hitting the trails on a hike, enjoying a bike ride, spending time with his wife and two grown children.

Dustin is our Principal in the Houston office, joining CDCC in 2014 after 18 years in construction and banking.

He has called Houston home since 1981 after being born in Germany. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Construction Science, he started his career in industrial construction before moving to commercial project management with a national general contractor firm. He then transitioned to Wells Fargo Bank as an internal construction risk manager overseeing the construction due diligence on new construction loans and other assets across the country. He also received an MBA from the University of Houston during this time. This gives him a two-fold approach to construction risk management by understanding the development & construction process but also the lender’s perspective in risk management and loan oversight. In his spare time, you can find Dustin spending time with his wife and two sons and enjoying the outdoors or playing a round of golf.

Joe is principal for the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He joined the CD Construction Consulting team in 2009.

His experience in the construction field began upon graduation from Texas A&M University as a project engineer at a commercial construction company. As a project engineer, Joe built a strong set of skills-project coordination, scheduling, estimating, and construction management of high-end commercial projects. Understanding the construction side of construction risk management allows him to be knowledgeable about the processes and documentation of a construction project. He looks forward to serving you-the lender-in risk mitigation with great efficiency and attention to detail.

During his time away from the office, Joe enjoys time with his wife, coaching his kids’ little league teams, watching football and looking for that next great catch while fishing or hunting.

Collin Wright is our Principal in the Denver office, joining CDCC in 2016.

Prior to CDCC, he graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Construction Science, and spent time working for a general contractor as well as a development firm. Seeing multiple sides of the construction industry has given him valuable insight in his role protecting Lenders’ interests at CDCC. Outside work, Collin enjoys hiking and fishing with his three children.

John is currently a Vice President and manages the Houston office, joining CDCC in 2015 after 24 years in construction and business management.

He is a native Houstonian, graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Construction Science, started his career in residential construction before moving to industrial and commercial construction with international firms. He also has experience in business management as well as land development, marine construction, and civil engineering business management which gives him extensive experience in all facets of engineering and construction. His experience brings a broad view of and project management experience of all types of construction which really brings value to our clients with his oversight. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter, trail riding on his motorcycle, and attending sporting events of all types.

Peter Munnerlyn is the Sales & Marketing Manager at CDCC.

He is a seasoned marketing professional with over 13 years of experience driving growth, engagement, and brand loyalty across various industries. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and three kids. He also enjoys reading and playing racquetball.

Ben is Vice President of our Austin office. He joined CDCC in 2021 after working for over a decade as an engineer.

After graduating from The University of Texas with a master’s degree in engineering, Ben worked in various manufacturing, design, construction management, R&D project management, and engineering management roles in the 3D Printing and Solar Energy industries. Through these experiences, he honed his problem-solving, team building & leadership, and organizational skillsets, enabling him to effectively lead part of the high caliber team at CDCC. He is also a husband and a father of three kids and serves as a deacon at his church. Outside of the office, you can find Ben attempting to be a mechanic, doing woodworking, hanging out with his family, and doing all kinds of outdoor activities – coaching little-league teams, fishing & hunting, and putting on an occasional pyro musical fireworks display.
